A very popular finish. Whether it’s a driveway or pool deck exposed aggregate gives you a nice natural looking finish. The process to the installation starts with the concrete mix. The stone you are left seeing is part of the mix and has to be ordered as exposed aggregate mix. You could also expose a regular concrete mix, but you would not get this look. You would have a mixture of large stones and small stones. When we pour the exposed mix it consists of more stone than a regular load and also the stone is consistent in size. For the picture above we used a brown pea stone. The brown pea stone is nice because the color of the stone goes well in the landscape. Please make sure you have your contractor seals the exposed. The sealer brings out the color of the stone and also protects the exposed from acid rain. Exposed aggregate should be sealed yearly for this reason.
